Monique Bryher is a Realtor®, a California Department of Real Estate (DRE) licensed real estate broker and licensed mortgage loan officer with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). She represents persons who are selling or purchasing their homes and has successfully completed property sales in Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange counties. Some of the property sales have been properties held in trusts, while others were probate real estate sales. She is both familiar and comfortable with the California court system and has represented individuals, financial institutions and prosecuting agencies before the courts, including serving as an expert witness and litigation consultant in real estate fraud and mortgage fraud cases. She has a particular interest when these cases involve accusations of financial elder abuse, disabled persons, persons with diminished capacity or other limitations that prevent them from being able to protect their interests.
Monique was rated A+ by Wells Fargo Bank for her expertise selling foreclosed properties (REO properties) during the mortgage meltdown of 2007-2014. She is the founder and publisher of the California Real Estate Fraud Report, which is a private endeavor unaffiliated with her real estate brokerage or mortgage brokerage. She is also the author of How to Commit Short Sale Fraud . . . and Get Away with It, a white paper on the epidemic of short sale fraud that occurred during the mortgage crisis of 2007-2014.
Prior to her career in real estate, Monique was an information technology specialist who consulted for hospitals, health plans and financial institutions. She began serving as an expert witness by providing litigation support in civil litigation cases as a forensic computer examiner (CFCE) after becoming the first private sector woman in the United States to become certified through the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), at the time a law enforcement-only training institution.
Monique earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Statistics from UCLA, a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in information technology from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a paralegal certificate from UCLA Extension.
Monique is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a credential affiliated with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
